Seán Broderick RIP & Sally Morgan RIP

Sunday 1st November 2020

Coiste Chontae an Dúin and the family that is Down GAA are saddened to learn today of the death of Seán Broderick of Clann na Banna.

Seán gave great service to Down GAA as a long serving member of the South Down Committee and as Referees coordinator, where he worked hard to ensure that all fixtures were covered on a Sunday or on a Friday night for many years and indeed in years before mobile phones became the norm, Seán helped ensure fixtures were always played.

At South Down Committee level, Seán was the longest serving current member and took great pride in the organisation of the Awards Night, he also took great satisfaction also in the performance of Down referees on the national and provincial stage.

In the current climate, Seán's wake and funeral are private and we extend our sympathy to his wife and family on the loss of a Husband, Father and Grandfather. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.

We also extend our deepest sympathy to our former County Hurling Manager Gerard Monan on the death of his mother Sally, whose funeral took place earlier today. To Gerard his brother Patrick, sisters Ursula and Agnes, we offer our condolences on the death of your mother.
